Well it would fit with the story about the Queen saying Kate has to get a job first.  After all, why would the Queen set a condition for something she hasn't been asked yet?
I love the Queen. If it was true what she said (which maybe she read this message board, wouldn't it be lovely?? lol)

the AWESOME Queen!

here is another article written on that site:

title is : Queen wants Kate to work...

This is a beautiful pic. If I were the townsfolk here I would like this one of my town. Nicely captured.

That is a beautiful view...would that be the actually village or town of Dartmouth?

Dartmouth in Devon Cornwall.

Dartmouth is in Devon; Cornwall is a neighbouring county and quite a long way away.

^^ Interesting read. I particularly like this quote:
Quote
He will have to find another way to earn our respect  -  especially at a time when the reputation of the young royals is already badly tarnished.

The rather vulgar flogging off of Peter Phillips's wedding to Hello! came hot on the heels of William's helicopter jollies and widespread disquiet about his jobless and increasingly grand girlfriend, Kate Middleton.

Only hard work and dedication can restore the young royal's reputation and secure the monarchy's future.

And to that end, William should look to his mother, Princess Diana, and his grandmother, the Queen, for examples of how statesmanship can be combined with service, through tireless support for charitable causes.

Prince William must learn, and learn quickly, that the patronage of the British people should never be confused with patronising them.

Wills 4-Ever!! Willite #79

« Reply #135 on: June 05, 2008, 02:39:15 AM »

I don't think Amanda Platypus Platell's article is an interesting read, I think it's snarky, supercilious crap.  I also think Amanda Platell is a certified, broom riding hag, not to mention a journalistic hack.

She doesn't hesitate to bad mouth and denigrate Wills for what he's doing, but what has Platypus Platell done for the soldiers in the military?  Wills has done a lot more for the soldiers in the military than she's ever thought about doing.

Where was Platypus during the City Salute last month?  Wills and Harry organised the City Salute deliberately to raise funds and raise awareness for injured men and women who have done their duty for Queen and Country.  Did she help them with their efforts to help the soldiers?

Did she fly to Afghanistan to show her support of the troops?  Did she visit the rehab hospital in Surrey?  Has she at least tried to serve or offer some type of service the way Wills has?

And that's not even counting what she said about Harry, or that she said Harry shouldn't have gone to Afghanistan.  Harry went to Afghanistan because he wanted to serve, and to do his duty.  He deserves better recognition than what Platypus is saying.

She's full of crap, and she never has anything but criticism for the younger members of the Royal Family.  She's the other journalist who made snarky remarks about Beatrice's weight.

Amanda Platell is an ignorant journalistic hack who can't put her money or her conviction where her mouth is.  Let her join the military or just try to serve the suffering soldiers in some way, then she can beat up on Wills and Harry and Peter all she likes.

Wow Mapleleaf, Feel free to tell us what you really think....

But IMO I think Amanda Platell is doing her job. She's reporting her opinion.
I just like the way how she opens our eyes. I don't think she's heaping blame on William - Just his advisors.

Tongue I know Vanny, but her opinion is worth as much as she's done for the soldiers she mentions in her column, which is absolutely nothing.

Her article manages to place a good amount of blame on Wills as well as his advisors, when he's done something that the military is happy about, and that makes many soldiers and sailors feel good about their service.  Almost everything she says is just wrong, silly, or full of hot air.

She's just like our neighbour's shihtzu, yapping all the time about nothing, just so she can get a tidbit.  In her case, getting a tidbit means more sales.

Mark my words, Platypus is going to shoot herself in the foot one day, if she hasn't already done so.  One day she'll want a Royal exclusive, and she'll be totally bypassed because of her snarky columns.

She's racking up quite a lot of bad sentiment towards herself with regards to the RF, and I hope it really bites her in the bum one day.  And if it does, it'll serve her right.

I have to agree with Amanda Platell on one thing the photo ops and gushing about William's supposed "natural talents" is ridiculous and way exxagerated. He's not superman!  Tongue They did they same thing when they claimed he learned to fly in 3 months and "earned" his wings while others take 4 years. They should have given him "honorable" wings instead of pretending. It is contradictory to claim he's trained like everyone else while his attachment is clearly designed especially for him and very short at that. A little more honesty in that respect would have taken CH a long way.

However it is just as ridiculous for Amanda Platell to somehow blame the bad situation the troops may be in in Iraq and Afghanistan or even the fact that those conflicts are being faught on William. What more can he do? ML is right to point out that he has already done much more than anyone else really. If it wasn't for the Royal family and their support of the troops those things might actually not be discussed at all publicly. Who else would have raised millions for injured soldiers? Furthermore I don't see how these PR stunts help to gloss over the image of the military. People don't forget about the wars or the injured soldiers just because they see some pics of William shipping around on a river. To suggest as much is just plain stupid. That part of the criticism is clearly pure snarkiness.

Yet, William obviously needs better PR advisors who don't try so blatantly to promote his image. He's doing fine enough on his own if given royal engagements, they need not tell us constantly how great he is. Let him do his job and the people will respect him for it.

I agree with Amanda Platell. Another time for Wills to dress up and play soldier--he dabbles in between parties and vacations that no "ordinary" soldier gets. ANd his hunting down drug dealers is laughable. He is shown partying with smirking Kate showing he gets lots of free time from his hard work. I prefer Amanda to sychophant Katie Nicholls who is always flattering William and Kate so much it gets sickening. She wants some favors from them (interviews, pics) and doesn't care how much flattery she heaps on them to get it.

Since Harry was with Chelsy at the same event as Wills and Kate, doesn't that mean Harry gets time off from work also?  More importantly, why would anyone expect them to be at work on Saturday night anyway?

Katie Nicholl is the one that wrote the article saying that the Queen told Kate to get a job, so obviously she isn't doing the syncophant stuff anymore, but it's a moot point because no one here ever paid any attention to Katie Nicholl anyway.
And I think Amanda Platell is broom-flying harridan who seems to dislike everyone and everything royal, except for the Queen herself.  Plus, until she enrolls in the service, or until she at least does as much as Wills has done, then she can't talk.  IMO she's a silly cow who rants about things and people that she does nothing about herself.

Amanda works for a living unlike Kate Middleton and probably more than William. However some disagree with her she is doing something with her life other than waiting around for a prince to propose. I am tired though of writers who are sycophants and not only make money but play up to the royals for perks (like party invitations)n ala Ingrid Seward. I prefer honesty in writers.

Sorry ML but even you have to admit that William in Afghanistan and the rehab in Surrey was probably for PR only to boost his image. He may care for the troops like many millions but Just what sort of Charitable contribution has he done on his own?. He always has to have Harry with him.
