Wills 4-Ever!! Willite #79

« Reply #1 on: June 18, 2008, 01:22:12 AM »

I just read that article princesslily, and I can't believe Richard Kay is saying this!  I don't know if it's true or not, Richard Kay runs about 50% right, 50% wrong with his articles.  This could be one of the times that he is wrong.  I would definitely have to wait and see on this one.

Kay's article says that Carole Middleton was invited to the royal box, and that she would probably attend on Ladies Day.  It also says Kate wouldn't be there, just her mum.  Well, if it actually happens, then we all know an engagement announcement will be a forgone conclusion, it'll just be a matter of when it will be announced in 2009.

Ladies Day at Ascot isn't until Thursday, so we've got a little while to wait and find out whether Richard Kay is correct this time, or if this is just one more load of journalistic crap to add to all the rest.

Carole and Camilla will pick out the wedding date at Ascot and inform the kids. "It's all set," they'll say.

I hope he doesn't get engaged until he is at least 28, but I have a feeling an announcement is coming up soon.

Tongue I'm just glad Camilla makes a habit of keeping her nose out of the personal business of her husband's sons.

Camilla is no more going to involve herself in Wills' and Harry's personal lives than Charles involves himself in Tom PB and Laura Lopes' (nee PB) lives.

If anything, the Queen will be involved because Wills' wedding will actually be a state affair.  Wills is the heir to the heir to the throne.  That's much too grand a position, and much too important, for his stepmother to have any input in the proceedings. laugh If anything, she'll probably keep her nose out of it as much as possible, just to avoid any bad publicity.

I think William wouldn't find Camilla's advice unwelcome. He probably would listen to advice she may have. I don't think she ever would have to force advice on him. She will sit prominently with the royals as next of kin to William. She and Carole of course will have input should Wills and Kate wed. I am interested in seeing how the two will relate-and what each will wear in an appearance together. Wills also would probably get advice from his step siblings who both married within the last few years for their perspectives.

And should Wills and Kate wed, Charles and Carole will share a coach as will Camilla and Kate's father. A royal wedding tradition.

Sorry ML can't agree Cammy does involve herself with Willie and As for Charles and Tom PB Lola wasn't christened in the Chapel Royal without his consent.

Hello Magazine will have a cover story out of this and photo spread should Carole show up and mngle with royals.

Supposedly Charles got the Parker Bowles kids trust funds. I think Charles is involved in their lives so much so that the press at times mentions HE'S the granddad of Camilla's grandchildren and leave out the fact that APB is.

I also think Camilla has a large influence on Wills and he wouldn't push her away if she gives advice. The Queen is more of a "hands off" the children's problem type as has been proven in the past.

I've never had any interest in Carole Middleton.  mellow There's something about this story that doesn't ring true just like Katie N's story about Kate refusing the Queen. Why would Carole be there without her daughter? I'd like to see Kate or PW at Ascot though.

I thought William is doing his navy duty now. Kate and Mum might show up together, who knows? If Kate marries Wills, expect to see a lot more of Carole.

I agree aduchess if there is going to be a discussion between the Queen & Kate's Mum than I would of thought it would be done behind the doors and not in a royal box at Ascot, where the public could see it. I agree Katie Nicholls story is false.

I think they are just trying to spark the engagement rumors because she was seen at the Garter ceremony. I still don't think they will marry next year if the rumors about Zara & Mike are true. 2010 maybe 2011 is a possibilty they may want William to do some Royal duties as a fulltime royal without Kate & slowly show Kate the ropes. Eventhough William knows what to expect because he has been told what to expect since he was a child and has slightly more experience than Kate. He may want to do it on his own for a bit until he feels more confident in fulltime working Royal role first then show Kate what he wants her to do with him or without him.

I know Richard Kay is more reliable than Katie Nicholl. But still, why didn't either of them have the scoop that Kate would be at the Order of the Garter? I tend to think that maybe Kate will be at Ascot sometime this week. So both Kay & Nicholl are just trying to cover all the bases.
