Actually, like the Duke of Windsor, it seems when peripheral members of the royal family become an embarrassment, they are stationed down to The Bahamas or Caribbean.   20

Princess Margaret and Princess Alexandra's 1960s tours of the Caribbean - including the granting of independence to territories down there - were always done with some style and panache.
