Chelsy set for abdication law firm--Press AssociationPrince Harry's ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy has accepted a post at a law firm whose co-founder advised Edward VIII during his abdication.
Miss Davy, 23, will join Allen and Overy later this year after completing a postgraduate law course at Leeds University.
A spokeswoman for Allen and Overy confirmed the firm had made an offer to Miss Davy, which she had accepted.

I have to say that I am shocked that she plans to stay in London. I honestly did not think that she would.
With that being said, I am very happy for her and I wish her the best of luck!

Miss Davy will complete her course in the spring before heading to London to spend the next two years working as a trainee solicitor with the law firm, reported Hello! magazine. Wow Chelsy is staying in London for the next two years good for her for accepting their offer and if the story is true Chelsy

I agree with wannabe, good luck to her, but I can't congratulate someone who, from all evidence, got this offer from her connections, rather than academic credentials. Come to think of it, she doesn't need my good luck wishes either.

Time will tell her dedication and stamina in the real world; that is, if she is subject to the same conditions as ordinary workers. *rolls eyes*

Anyway, congratulations Chelsy. Lucky her I've still got a year and a half to go! But at least I've got a nice summer internship in the bag.

I don't need to. I would appreciate it if you wouldn't answer on my behalf. It's so impolite. I base my opinion on the evidence which came to hand, and certain inescapable facts which cannot be ignored. Perhaps you missed that thread? As I previously stated: on the ole balance of probabilities ... Since you are a law student, Berlin, I'm sure you understand what I'm saying. Congratulations to you! No doubt you earned yours - fairly and squarely.

I personally think it's disgusting to assume that someone didn't get something on their merits, based on NO real evidence. Everything anyone has mentioned is circumstantial. But, that's just IMO.

What happened to being 'so ridiculously excited' about going back to Africa? I do not understand this girl! She may as well stay together with Harry

Well done Chelsy. Allan&Overy fantastic. Now I have a reason to be envious of you. I'm also a law student and would kill for a job like that. Objective, how do you know she got this based on her Royal connections do you know the law firm directly? Law firms are not stupid they don't take just anyone. Allan & Overy are one of the top 5 uk law firms in the country and part of the so called magic circle of law firms. They wouldn't have chosen her just because she dated Harry. Oh no. Because they receive so many applications they wouldn't have just taken Chelsy on based on her Royal connections she would have had to have stood out during her work experience with them. They wouldn't have taken her if she were stupid or didn't show her worth. They look for high acedemic achievements both at school and university so Chelsy would have to had scored a 2:1 for her last degree and performed excellently in her a-levels and highly in this current degree. She would have gone through exactly the same process as every other applicant. She would have had to have shown evidence of teamwork, leadership and problem solving skills. Obviously she gave Allan & Overy what they were looking for and so they took her on. This is a great achievement and I'm sure Chelsy will do very well, what has Kate ever done??? Kate has never achieved anything like this. Chelsy will be the one laughing now cos she has an amazing future ahead of her. I think you are annoyed because Chelsy continues to prove her worth and continues to show people she isn't just an ex-royal girlfriend there is more to her. You're also annoyed because time and time again Chelsy shows she is so much better then Kate and you Kate fans cannot stand it. This is a girl to look up to an admire and I certainly do. Go Chelsy and good luck. Berlin, congrats on the internship. May I ask which firm?

That's a vast generalisation to make with no facts to prove it... I'm happy for Chelsy, but I don't understand why she's staying when she is obviously homesick - I've seen her posts on FB when 'borrowing' pictures - she'd rather be anywhere but England! I don't get it...

Well she's accepted it, but she can always change her mind. If she doesn't get back with Harry, I doubt she would stay in England. During school time, she has all summer off to go home, a month at Christmas, spring break.... I don't know about English vacation, but two weeks is standard here for a new employee. Doubt she could stand 50 weeks without a break to go to SA. Too homesick, even though she has spent years in England.
