Wow, that is a ridiculous article, Stix. You're absolutely right, it makes perfect sense that in the middle of a recession the only people who could afford to donate a significant amount of money are the rich people--the kind who'd go to a polo match! (Or, you know, PAY to go to the polo match. Obviously we'll all be there like crazy people in Stixie's pup tent. Hehehe...)

That's more or less my goal  Although, I just got invited to a wedding on May 30th, so I may not be going after all... TelegraphClarence House declined to comment ^That's odd. If it is an official event, why would they decline comment? |

I am a bit worried about it as well, since it isn't on the POW site yet either!! ^i know.  the DM really shouldn't toy with my emotions like this. i'm a Harryite for God's sake....something like this could kill me.  I attached the pic to that one post... it is still there! I live near the city and I checked out the prices for the event the cheapest price for a ticket is a picnic for $500.00 and the VIP tickets go for $50,000.00 with train, subway and ferry to Governors Island that is too pricey. I think I might go to Ground Zero or to 125Th street where Hale house used to be I think he is going to be there with Prince Seesio if I knew the schedule. This recession totally bites. MY husband would kill me for paying those prices. |

^yeah, it's a pretty big event and its in Manhattan so.....  the article Allie posted above said there is dress code for ticket holders..... There will be areas open to the public at no charge as well as those requiring tickets. In reverence to the long-time polo tradition, VIP guests will be asked to dress for the occasion: women in hats and men in summer suits. but it's open to the public so you can probably get a peek for free. a couple other articles said that he'll be flying home that evening so will miss the ball anyway. so don't worry about not having a ticket. although i feel bad for anyone who did and thought they'd get a chance to see/meet Harry at the after party.  there are some seriously disappointed women out there right now! |
