From my CH guide book......... The portrait is Augustus John's painting, which is titled 'When Homer Nods: Portrait of George Bernard Shaw, 1915'.

Thanks, Ursula!  Great sleuthing! smile

Thank you, Ella Kay.

Ermilinda, with all due respect, I'm not sure what your youtube video has to do with the topic of this thread.  According to the Clarence House guide book,  the portrait of George Bernard Shaw was acquired by CH in 1938.

with all due respect I am sure it is on topic. There are some people who would like to know "who & what" a George Bernard Shaw is... and why he hanging in the CH gallery... and in the portait of PW & PH.

Well, when you bring Hitler into it, I think it's as relevant as the table Harry is leaning against.

Probably his portrait is hanging in Clarence House because he's a famous, Nobel-winning Irish playwright, Ermalinda.  Ever heard of Arms and the Man?  Or Pygmalion -- you know, that one that My Fair Lady was based on?

It's a good portrait ... But has Prince Harry really got hands about a quarter of the size of Prince William's?

William   - "Well bro, how did u think that went?"
Harry     - "Yeah great, but I can't wait to get these boots off, they're killing me!

William's is very off-putting to me. Why is it half in shadow??  ohmy And his face looks too narrow. The eyes also look too close together and maybe a little bit too small. And it almost looks like he has bags under his eyes, like he looks tired.

Wanderlust, interesting comments, because when I first saw the portrait it appeared to me that the Artist was trying to emphasize William's Windsor side.

Wonder if the artist had a secret crush on Harry and painted him in a bit more of a flattering way
  I thought that too.

Philipps also said she was pleased with the profile of Harry and the depiction of his nose, which was broken during a rugby match when he was being schooled in Eton.

Palace officials confirmed that Harry suffered the injury, which was never made public, when he was about 15

The portrait is lovely and Ms Phillipps certainly produced an amazing piece of work..

Maybe like his mum.She with her broken nose, depended on which side they were photographed or painted.

Video interview with the painter of the portrait and reporter Neil Sean.  The painter talked about what it was like working with them ("very charismatic, lots of laughing")

Neil Sean says Prince Harry uses a picture of the portrait as his screensaver on his laptop. smile
