Believe me .. William is NOT getting engaged to Kate this year.  The signs are just NOT there.

But they have to be careful he doesn't eclipse Charles. Our source said: "It is a difficult balancing act."

Indeed.  smile

I don't feel that I've been "lulled" into believing anything.  The proof was in the pictures, the videos and the firsthand accounts of people who were there.

But Ursula all of it is momentary.  In 3 months time, lets see what the polls say then.  In 3 months time it will all be forgotten.  Why?  Because PW will retreat back into S&R training and if anything was accomplished in NZ and OZ it shall become as no more than a flash in the pan.

If it is to be sustained then PW should come out of S&R training, take up full time royal duties and continue to work and build on what was accomplished down under.  After all William is the future of the monarchy and if he is to have any influence in the future he MUST start working for this NOW whilst he is YOUNG.  The fans of today shall become his biggest supporters of the future.

Hale, I honestly think you're blaming William for things that are beyond his control.  William and Harry do not have complete control over what they do.  I've said this before - Charles hasn't exactly been keen on getting them out there and having them become the popular princes they're quickly becoming.  I think he let them flounder long enough as he was preoccupied with other personal issues and the Queen finally stepped in and had William go in her place.

Sir David Manning has been Prince William's adviser for more than a year already.

Read recently :
That William has turned down an invitation to attend Crown Princess of Sweden's wedding on 19 June, as he wants to attend the Worldcup Football game in South Africia the same day, on Sat 19 June instead.

Yes, that was last weeks KN piece, although she gave all the wrong reasons of why he shall be there. No mentioning of being the President of the EFA...

Yes, I wonder who will be going in representation of the BF. It should be a senior royal me thinks.

That would be IMO the best choice.

(KN wants to sound in, when she wasn't invited in the royal press pack to Wills and now Harry, referring to her 'royal' articles of course. We all should know what her next William article will be: "PW got special permission to leave the RAF base, unlike his mates, to "cheer" the England team". Instead of "PW will be fullfiling official royal duties as President of the EFA. He will be seated next to the 70 and 80 year old Mr. xx and yy, whom are the founders...". in his usual suit and whatnewtie)

Considering it is the future Queen of Sweden who is getting married, maybe William should have been told to go. (Would it be acceptable for the Crown Princess not to attend his wedding?). After all he too will be King one day as well.  Though Edward and Sophie are a nice choice, they seem like a very lovely couple.

My argument is the BRF through their own misdemeanours have taken a huge knock back.  Republicans are not only raising their voices in Australia, but here also.
Hale, there has always been a republican section in Britain and, like all empty vessels, they make the most noise. Are you forgetting Willie Hamilton? There is no chance, that in the foreseeable future, Britain will go republican.

No diabando, I remember Willie Hamilton very well.  I am also aware there has alway been dissenting voices, however this organisation Republic........what can I say.....i have never seen or read of a group so organised as this one.  There internet is a great campaigning voice.  It was they who persisted and obtained under the Freedom of Information Act the background to William landing his hellicopter in Kates back garden.

Put Willie Hamilton out of your mind.......The Republic is something else.

When the future king of Denmark and the future king of Norway got married, I think the Prince of Wales attended , at least the church ceremonies. I seem to remember that he left pretty fast both times and that Edward and Sophie stayed to represent Britian during the rest of the celebrations. They will probably treat this wedding the same way. When Madeleine gets married: no prince of Wales, only Edward and Sophie (compare with Märtha Louise's wedding)

Hale, I think you will agree that we are well off topic. Let me just finish my contribution by saying that the republicans in Britain are a very small group crying in the wilderness. Anyone can create a presence on the internet, but it doesn't mean that any notice is being taken. I repeat, there will be no republic for Britain in the foreseeable future; most Brits are just not interested in change.

I think a few are confusing Willyum's tour with An OFFICIAL royal tour which it was not. Yet it had large crowds and massive press coverage by the UK alone, with the 40 journalists that travled with him to the two countries. The links I posted showed he was accompanied by more than 40 members of the British press when Chas only had five go with him to Canada. In Willy's  case, exciting news and pictures were rightly anticipated. People tend to avoid Charles as they mostly did in the USA.
