The majority of poster discussion are most likely referring to the paparazzi photo of Chelsy and Mrs. Beverly coming out of a taxi at the gates of Clarence House - dated August 18, 2008. The tabloids who purchased those photos said they were to have 'tea' with Prince Harry.   The remaining royals that live in CH, at that time were in Balmoral, working in the military or out of the country.

Every year as I mentioned and anyone may see it in the British Monarchy and/or POW official sites, the crown estates have there yearly touring period for the public. And if I'm not mistaken anyone may also go to the souvenir shop and have tea, without PH

Then why were they going in the private entrance? Plus do you know Harry wasn't there?

^That was info I briefly gave to the 'public'.

I did state:
^Yes some parts of CH is open to the public during Summer of each year. CD and her mum did a tour - PH was the only royal available - summer 2008.

The Summer Opening of Clarence House will be 31 July - 1 September 2010.
Further dates may be added.
10:00-16:00 (last admission 15:00)

CD and Mrs. Beverly Davy went August 18, 2008

Other than, who wouldn't want to have a private tour - The Royal (CH) Collection  ^_^

Just because CH is open to the public, it doesn't mean ALL of it is open to the public.  My guess is, the reception, dining and drawing rooms.  I read that POW had part of CH converted into a self contain flat, which means NONE of the public would have access to that.
that's exactly right.  its the same in all the royal palaces (and castles) that are open to the public.

I suspect when PH is meeting up with CD it wouldn't be at her flat because it has been public sometime she has been living in Belgravia, therefore that surely would be an open invitation for those who mean to harm?
i dont actually think it would be a huge security problem.  he and the other royals live in far more well known addresses in London after all. Wink  Belgravia is a big district and although i'm sure paparazzi have her address i've never seen it published.

they were having a private visit with Harry.  i think wannabe is just pointing out that it's open to the public for a few months in the year.  although the public rarely gets to have tea with Harry while visiting. Wink  usually.  he did have tea with cancer survivor Nicole Dryburgh and her family at Clarence House. My date with Prince Harry

and i've just remembered that Matt Lauer mentioned that Chelsy was at Clarence House when Harry and William gave the pre-concert interview the year before.

so yeah....like any and every bf and gf they hang out at each others houses.  now that Chelsy has a London flat of her own (rather then staying with friends as she used to) its not all that surprising that he'd be able to spend more time at her place.

Yes, a few rooms are open to the public during the summer months, as you posted.  And, even then, it is "subject to change" depending on the family's schedule.  We were one day away from having our tickets revoked because of a "change in His Royal Highness' schedule."  The tour guide said we were lucky to get in as they had to disappoint many people at the last minute.

I must admit that CH is very warm and welcoming.

So I am still a little confused...why would Bev and Chels go on a tour of CH? Hasn't Chelsy seen it prior to 08?

and they were going in through a private entrance to see Harry and have tea w/him? Was it just the 3 of them in a private area and nobody could bother them???

So sorry but I am still confused as to why Chelsy would want a tour..

Kate and Chelsy have toured, as I may recall, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Clarence House. According JL's sources (guide at private tour for W&H girlfriends), K obviously had more interest and knew about the art displayed.

Mrs. Davy went with her daughter to visit Prince Harry during 'CH Tour Dates'. I don't recall any other moment that Mrs. Davy had ever been in CH, wouldn't she want to see?! The point I am trying to get across, is that when the paparazzi photographed mother and daughter, August 18, 2008 - Prince Charles and Camilla where in Balmoral, Prince William and Kate Middleton where http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2008/news/080825/prince_william320.jpg , the only one available was Prince Harry, whom had recently returned from holiday to Botswana with Miss Davy. The residents of CH usually are not there during summer, and CH 5 or so rooms in the ground floor, gardens, etc are offered to the tourists for sight seeing.  ^_^

For the record, I do not see anything wrong with this visit during tour dates at all.

Stix.....I don't always articulate myself as well as I should.  The reason I do think there would be a security problem much the same way I thing there would be security issue at Kate's flat is that it is a smaller area.  By that, I'm thinking in terms of a car pulling up outside the main entrance, people stepping on the kerb then going up the steps to the main door.  It's contained and therefore vulnerable.  A nutter can hurl themselves easily into a tight knit contingent.  Whereas at: Highgrove and CH, a car goes through gates and pulls up in a spacious court yard.

That's what was going through my head.

why would CD and her mom do a tour? Hasn't Chelsy been to Clarence House prior to that?

Perhaps Chelsy wanted her mother's advice on decorating tips?    Wink

Whose JL?
