Supposedly, this is due out next Sunday, 14 Feb 2010. (Paperback - 14 Feb 2010) WILLIAM AND KATE - THE LOVE STORY! R Jobson. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- February issue of 1) Majesty and 2) Royalty Magazine http://www.majestymagazine.com/editors_letter.phphttp://www.royalty-magazine.com/Majesty Editor's Letter As always, the fascination with William continues as he broadens his role. Of course everyone wants to know about his relationship with Kate Middleton and whether they will marry this year or not. For the prince, the most important thing is trust, and in Kate he has found a girl who is not only beautiful but also totally trustworthy. But more important than wealth or an aristocratic bloodline (once perceived as essential), she has loyalty in abundance and a stable background of happy family life. They both know that when and if they marry their life will never be their own again; when they do wed – and I am sure they will – they have to be ready for it. It has been announced that the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will centre on June 2012, with a special four-day Jubilee Weekend being planned to celebrate and commemorate the events of Her Majesty’s 60-year reign. Details will be made public nearer the time. It is important to strike the right note, and of course 2012 is also the year the Olympic Games come to London. How about repeating the street parties that made the Silver Jubilee in 1977 so memorable?

The Robin Nunn book isn't going to be published until after an engagement is announced (whenever that may be), according to the publishers.
I wonder if Jobson will be updating his book for the paperback edition -- it has indeed been several years since it was published. I've read it, and it could use some narrative tightening-up anyway.

Lucy .... look for the engagement announcement any day now?? What planet are you living on .... Certainly not this one.
No disrespect but that is absolute nonsense! I'm sure William knows nothing about any engagement ... only that in people's imaginations
Oh Lucy silly me, I realise it was meant as a joke, now I get it.

I remember hearing we would get an announcement last Christmas, first of the year, then it turned into February, then August. Nothing. Lucy, I truly hope you prove us all wrong and the long awaited announcement comes, but I just see it as trying to keep the hype going. IMO. Nothing ever comes of it.
Lucy, I am not getting your football joke or at least it seems like one anyway. Are you being sarcastic once again at the expense of all things American? I guess your "dat" is a form a Creole, Cajun which is very much part of New Orleans culture. Glad the Saints won as New Orleans needed something positive since Katrina. Jokes made about Americans are not as funny made by those who are not from here and vice versa for that matter. Bad manners and poor taste.

I highly doubt Lucy was making fun of anything. Her post was certainly not in bad taste and, as an American, I certainly didn't take offense and could see no reason why anyone else would, either. Some people are just overly sensitive and look at everything as picking a fight, when this clearly was not. "Who dat" was the Saints' battle cry heard across the USA in the run-up to the super bowl since it is the chant of Saints fans. I'm not sure where it comes from since the Saints aren't my team, but I'm sure it has something to do with the Creole/Cajun/whatever culture in New Orleans since they have practically a different language anyway. Lucy was simply playing off the words that people across the country (including TV and radio) were saying. If you're going to take offense, please do it with the person who created that battle cry or the Saints team itself --certainly not Lucy. ON TOPIC: So I guess no engagement announcement before 2011, then, huh? That is, if the Nunn book is a guideline, which I actually think it could very well be. That release would coincide with a summer 2011 wedding timeline. It's all wait and see!!

I totally agree COH. I don't understand why the lack of an engagement announcement is considered to be such a huge deal anyway. Wills and Kate are going to announce an engagement only when they're ready, and not one minute before. They certainly seem to enjoy their relationship just the way it is; and considering that Wills has made sure that Kate has been present for every important event in his life since he left uni, to the point that he even arranged for Kate to ride to his Knight of the Garter induction in an official car with Harry and Helen Asprey; Wills has made it plain that no other woman has ever been at such a level of importance to him as Kate Middleton. No other woman in Wills' life but Kate has ever been sat next to Paddy Haverson, Jamie Lowther Pinkerton or Miguel Head at either polo matches or the previously mentioned important personal events in Wills' life. And not only was Kate present at Wills' Wings ceremony last month, but Wills brought Kate with him to the Wings ceremony, he sat next to her throughout the entire event except for when he went up to receive his wings, and he left the event with Kate as well. I'd say it's a safe bet that they will eventually announce their engagement at some point, and until they do, I think it's perfectly fine to sit back enjoy being a Royal relationship watcher without fretting over the fact that no engagement has been announced yet. And food for thought: according to the known facts and fairly reliable sources like the BBC and actual friends with real names other than just 'source'; Wills and Kate have been dating since December 2003. That means they celebrated the sixth anniversary of their relationship this past December. That's only six years of dating. And if we add in the months that some people absolutely swear Wills and Kate were broken up, such as the summer of 2004 and the spring of 2007, then it shortens to about 5 and a half years. That's certainly not outrageous. Prince Edward and Sophie only announced their engagement after they'd been dating for almost six years, and they were both in their mid-thirties at the time. Sophie Rhys-Jones was 34 years old when she wed her Prince, and the sky didn't fall in at all. So those of you guys who are fretting and fussing about the lack of an engagement announcement, why not just relax and let it go? Wills and Kate's relationship seems to be doing just fine as it is, they're both still in their twenties, and they seem to be quite happy with the status quo. If that's good enough for them, then it's good enough for me. Btw: w00t w00t to the 'Who Dat Nation' ( that's for you New Orleans Saints fans, Lucy and Miss Scarlett!) and I'm wishing everyone a belated !

Never forget, the business of the press is to sell newspapers, so it stands to reason they will take a stab in the dark about the engagement announcement. If they get it right then they all claim that they were the first to publish it. When they get it wrong they let the announcement stories rest and then resurrect every two-three months. Either way the press wins. They sell newspapers.
