So at least we know that she was there. And there must be a reason, likemaybeshe is working with marketing. So could it be that those who said she wasn't working were wrong?? Posh enough voice btw...

It's good that there is proof that she was there. No need for "sighting" rumors. Plus no guesses at what her voice is like anymore. I hope this means she's serious about this and working hard. I hope she's less sheltered in future about working.
Of course she has a "posh" accent.

When more than 20 persons via twitter mention a sighting, and it happens to be starting from one of the Marketing organizers, that would definitely not be a rumour.
Anyway excellent find Kinga77, awesome !

Proof that she's not just sitting around waiting for William to call. She is doing something.
Not that I doubted it for a minute....I believe she will astound us all when the time is right.

Well this is an event because she was SEEN there, filmed and TALKING. There were other twitters at other events, etc saying she was someplace with no pics. There was the Call me Catherine alleged phone call, the alleged trip to Florence Italy, I could go on... This is a milestone actually. One quibble: Kate needs to work on using variety of expressions other than "interesting." I hope she works on public speaking skills if she wants to seriously be a presence in the work world. It's also a shrewd move on the part of the sponsors of the exhbit. Filming Kate should guarantee a lot of hits on their website and maybe more people signing up in future for the conference.

I think this is a whole lot better that tweets saying she was there. And more meaningful if she's developing a working woman image.

Of course I doubted because of the many many false stories about Kate being places where she actually wasn't. Maybe Kate and her PR have wised up that it's good to be able to back up the stories with actual appearances and be seen and visible. I think she should have done this sort of thing years ago. This is something that business people do, be visible and not rely on people "sighting" them or having unnamed friends saying she was someplace.
I hope this is a first step and she is out and about in the business world.

Tabloid stories ! Different from tweeting, the organizer... (i.e. Harry in a monkey costume, tweeted by one of the musicians, you can find it, copied then by tabloids, difference)

she definitely needs to work on her public speaking skills. i know it can be hard to come up with something interesting and intelligent when put on the spot, but there's no need for so many "umm"s and "interesting"s.

I do though think it's great for Kate's image to be interviewed there rather than rely on tweet reports. And there are older people who don't use twitter at all so don't get too excited over hearing "tweet" reports. An interview is a whole lot more effective IMO.

So now after hearing her speak for all of about seven seconds we've decided that she needs work on public speaking? I feel like we can all be so overly critical of Kate at times, even Barack Obama says umm. I think her voice is really lovely and I'm glad we finally got to hear it. I doubt she went to this show for PR reasons, she probably went because it could benefit her in her career path.

Diana needed public speaking and admitted it. She showed major improvements and confidence when she completed these speech lessons.I think it's a plus for anyone to improve their speech particularly if Kate ends up being a royal. William could use speech lessons too. It's no disgrace to get them. Many business execs have gotten public speaking lessons and are happy with the results and it gives them a lot more confidence as well.
This is an important first step for Kate and should be only a beginning in developing her public persona whether she becomes a businesswoman or a royal.

What's wrong with improving one's speech? I think Kate has a nice voice and with public speaking lessons she would be an excellent media presence.
Catch the early films of Diana (who spoke too fast when she first came out on appearances) and compare with her appearances after she had public speaking lessons and you will see what I mean.

I never doubted the story either, nor do I doubt the phone marketing story either. This is a fantactic find. With regards to PR, I personally don't believe Kate has a PR person. If she did then there would be someone to come forward on her behalf when tabs write ridiculous stories.

I hope she does have a PR person. I think there is a PR/marketing person for Party Pieces who hopefully works with Kate. I think public profile people benefit from a PR person in their corner. However, there are many ridiculous stories published about the royal family and their significant others. If the RF PR got up and spoke every time a faux story came out they would have to work 24/7 to keep up with them. I think Kate is advised not to speak up when there is a faux story lest too much attention is called to it. I think in an extraordinary case there would be a statement, but I doubt Kate would issue a statement when the third "first time lunch" with the Queen story is reported.
